Nick Freeth began [earning the piano in childhood, going on to take up the ***an and the guitar as a teenager. After a 20-year career in music radio production in the UK, during which he made programs for both the BBC and commercial stati***, he wrote his first two books, The Acoustic Guitarand The Electric Guitar in collaboration with Charles Alexander.

Nick's subsequent work has focused both on music and American culture: it includes The Illustrated Directory of Guitars, and Learn to Play the Guitar, as well as highly acclaimed guides to Route 66, and the Pacific Coast Highway.
