Eric slept badly and neve***anted to go to bed, but the others all had nine-to-five jobs and had to be compos mentis on Monday morning-- when Eric would bring them a cup of coffee laced with vodka. I don't know hwo they ever got to work. If he was bored and had no one to play with in the early morning, he would go into the kitchen, fill a saucepan with spo***, and rattle it to wake everyone up. He had to have playmates.

There were times on that tou***hen Eric was so drunk ***tage that he played lying flat on his back or staggering around wearing the weirdest combination of clothes that somehow looked stylish.

Eric wouldn't move unless Roger approved-- theirs was another father-son relati***hip, like the Beatles and Brian Epstein. All of those musicians were like boys in long trousers.
