　　The best dictionary I've ever seen. I own Oxford learner's dictionary, and Longman turned out to be much more reader-friendly. The DVD is awesome too! It has a lot of useful exercises (grammar, vocabulary, etc.). It also has a bunch of pre-recorded phrases for each entry, and you exercises that let you practice your pronunciation: you can record yourself, and then listen to the pre-recorded version. A very very useful DVD for those who study (or just want to improve) their English. I wish there was a dictionary like this in other languages, I'm mostly interested in Spanish.

　　This Dictionary is excellent for foreign English speakers, as it helps in choosing the correct words when their meanings are close and by noting which are the most common ones. Besides, it brings both British and American pronunciation and usage of words. I recommend it.

A good dictionary should clarify meaning, ideally by using words that the student already knows. Unfortunately, many dictionaries load their definiti*** with college-level vocabulary.
