你带着一份内在的天赋来到人世，你可能一开始就知道，也可能不知道，也可能现在还不知道，但是有时候你能感觉到它在你里面。此刻，你的头脑开始评判它。如果头脑评判它是坏的，你就会寻求治疗、解决方法、药物或某种成瘾的东西，来搞定它、隐藏它、操控它、释放它，或者接受它。但是一且你移除干扰，你便开始依天赋行事。简而言之，你开始成为神性的木偶，同时又是自己生命的操纵者。

你的选择是要不要顺其自然。

这才是自由意志。有人称它为自由不意，是因为你真正的决定是要不要依照冲动行事。

随着我不断地成长和觉悟，我开始担心自己早期的著作所传达的理念是错的，而且会误导读者。例如在《相信就可以做到》一书中，我十分强调意图的力量。在完成那部书多年后的現在，我意识到意图是个***玩的游戏，是个自我的玩具，真正的力量来自灵感。我还知道接纳生命才是幸福的最大秘密，而不是控制生命。太多的人，包括我自己，都试图通过观想和自我确认来操控世界。我现在明白了，根本没必要。随顺生活，并且不断地清理生活中发生的事情，会让你过得更好。

我开始体会到内维尔・戈达德一定有过的感觉，内维尔是我最喜欢的神秘主义作家，他早期的书多是关于通过“将感觉化为现实”去创造自己的生活。他在许多书，例如《法则与承诺》一书中，把这个叫作“法则”。“法则”一词是指你有能力通过感觉影响这个世界，而“承诺”指的是臣服于神对你的安排。
